Add:</p>
</p>

Mix thoroughly.</p>
</p>

Sift together:</p>
</p>

2 1/2 c. sifted flour</p>
<p>
1 tsp. baking powder</p>
<p>
1 tsp. salt</p>
</p>
<p>
Chill at least one hour (so it will roll out well). Roll it 1/8 inch thick &#8211; cut out desired shapes. Place on ungreased baking sheets. Sprinkle TOPS of COOKIES WITH SUGAR. Bake at 375 degrees for 10-12 minutes.</p>

BUTTER FROSTING FOR SUGAR COOKIES:</p>

<p>
Soften a cube of butter. Add about 3/4 box of powdered sugar. Gradually add canned milk while beating with electric mixer. Add about 1/4 teaspoon vanilla flavoring. Continue adding the remainder of the powdered sugar box and add canned milk to the desired consistency. Ice the sugar cookies and decorate with little sprinkly candies.</p>

Grease baking sheets. Start oven 10 minutes before baking, 400 degrees. Mix flour, baking powder and salt. Cream butter; add sugar, creaming well. Stir in vanilla and almond extracts, then beat in egg until fluffy.</p>

Add flour slowly, mixing well. Cover dough, chill at least 1 hour. Shape into balls (1 tablespoon each) and place on baking sheet. Press flat with tines of fork, twice. Brush lightly with egg white, sprinkle with sugar. Bake 10 minutes. Remove immediately to cake rack to cool. Yield: 2-3 dozen.</p>
